Xilinshui Hebei: a gigantic QR code made out of trees

Updated: Mar 18, 2021

People of China are so creative that they always find a way to surprise the world. Chinese are famous for their up-to-mark marketing strategies and their invention.

To boost local tourism they just crossed human abilities once again. They created a giant QR code- when we say, giant, it means really giant. The people of Xilinshui village created a QR code out of 130,000 Chinese juniper trees.

This QR code 227m (744 ft) long from each side. The trees range from 80 cm to 2.5 meters in height.

You probably thinking what’s the point of creating a such useless thing. But, what if I say it’s as useful as a regular QR code.

When you scan the code it directly takes you to Xilinshui's official tourism page on We Chat. Perhaps you have to book a helicopter or plane ticket for that.
