The satanic leaf-tailed geko, eyelash leaf-tailed gecko, Uroplatus phantasticus, or the phantastic leaf-tailed gecko is gecko species found on the island of Madagascar. it is first described in 1888 by George Albert Boulenger

Uroplatus phantasticus is a species of gecko indigenous to the island of Madagascar. First described in 1888 by George Albert Boulenger. its looks like leaf art with two googly eyes. it's just like nocturnal reptiles who like to eat insects. Uroplatus phantasticus is often kept in breeding pairs or trios. Males can be housed together as intraspecific aggression tends to be low when captive conditions are sufficient. However, even in good circumstances, there is occasional male-male aggression.

The gecko's body is curved like the edge of a leaf, and its skin is marked with lines that mimic a leaf's veins. But the most interesting accessory in the leaf-tailed gecko's disguise is undoubtedly its tail. The lizard's tail is not only shaped and colored like a leaf, but it also bears notches, frills, and imperfections to more closely resemble a dead leaf that has been gnawed on by insects.

Despite their name, these reptiles are actually mild-mannered, while measuring a little on the small side at around 2.5 to 3.5 inches long. They prefer to take peaceful naps in the forests of Madagascar. These remarkable species of gecko have evolved an extreme method of camouflage: becoming a dead leaf.
