Julia Buccola Petta: A girl lived 6 years under the grave

Julia Buccola Petta was born in 1862. She was a housewife. she died at the age of 29 while giving birth to a stillborn son. Petta was buried in her wedding dress at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Chicago. After Petta's death, her mother Filomena started experiencing some weird dreams in which Petta was telling her that she is still alive.




It is said that Filomena's suffered from these nightmares for about five years. Filomena couldn’t resist her motherly feeling. She decided to open her daughter's grave. The coffin was found decomposed, however, Petta's body was the same. The fact Why Petta's body had not decayed has never been explained.



This horrific story got popular among the locals and later around the world. Many researchers have given different reasons but none of them did justice to the incident.
