Susanna Salter (First women Mayor) - a group of men placed her name on a slate of candidate as prank


Susanna was a normal girl until a group of preposterous men decided to humiliate her. They put her name on the mayor election candidate; hoping to secure a loss that will humiliate women and discourage them from raise voices for equality but karma has already decided to teach a lesson to those men.



Susanna Madora Salter was an American politician and activist. She served as mayor of Argonia, Kansas, becoming the first woman elected as mayor and one of the first women to serve in any political office in the United States.


Sussana herself had no idea that her name was on the ballot before the poll opens. Although she didn't choose to be mayor, she agrees to accept the office if she secures a win. Not long after, the day came and she was elected as the new mayor of the town (April 4, 1887) by a two-thirds majority; a direct slap on the face who put her name on the ballot.


Susanna's story seeks the attention of the media and the story soon became a motivation to thousands of women. She was recognized and rewarded by many political parties and social communities. However, she faced many criticisms like she gained a sympathy vote, and she was not a deserving candidate. After service of a year, she was declined to seek re-election.
