We all have seen the mystical creature 'vampires' in TV series/ movies or read about them in books. Vampire costumes are widely chosen for Halloween day. Humans are so fascinated to know about vampires. But, are they even real? Do vampires actually suck blood? Are they immortal?




The qualities of modern-day vampires according to Hollywood are pretty well-established. They have fangs, drink human-blood to survive and have extraordinary hearing abilities. They run faster than wind, and can only be killed with a stake in their heart. It is suspected that the modern concept of the vampire is evolved from the traditional beliefs of Europe. These beliefs focused on the fear that the dead could still harm the living.




Who are real-life vampires?


People who claimed to be a vampire said that Vampires are the people you pass on the street and likely socialize with a daily basis.

They even have a global online community that Vampires across the world can join. According to the community, their mission is to promote unity in the real Vampire Community while being available to the newly awakened to encourage self-awareness and responsibility.


Founding member of this online community accepted that they often keep this aspect of their life secret with the fear that they will be misunderstood. Moreover, to safeguard themselves against counterattacks from what society considers taboo.


The real reason that causes 'haematomania'- the craving to drink blood is still unknown. Those who have experienced it defines it as an intense thirst-like sensation. Animal blood may act as a substitute, but for most vampires, nothing beats fresh blood. Frequency and amount do vary. For many a few teaspoons once a week is enough. Blood is supplemented with a regular human diet, after all, real vampires are humans with human needs.
